Biography

Richard Taub was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1937. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan where he also served as editor-in-chief of the Michigan Daily newspaper. After earning his BA in English Literature with Distinction and Honors in 1959, he moved on to Harvard University's Department of Social Relations where he received his MA in 1962 and his PhD in 1966,WEB,weblink[IDX]=151923, Detailed View: Richard P. During his time at Harvard he spent five years studying bureaucracy in India under the guidance of sociologist Alex Inkeles and anthropologist Cora DuBois and with the support of Fulbright and the American Institute for Indian Studies.
