History

The town was originally named "Harison", after Richard Harison, who had purchased the land and founded the town. The name was changed in 1808 to "Ezraville", after Ezra L'Hommedieu, and in 1812 to "Malone".File:Malone, N.Y. Sports

The Malone Border Hounds began play at American Legion Field with the Empire Professional Baseball League in 2023 and they won the league championship in their first season.
