History

Located in Los Angeles’s Cheviot Hills neighborhood, Hillcrest was founded by Samuel Newmark, Louis Issacs, Karl Triest, and Joseph Y. When Hillcrest membership opened to non-Jews, their first choice for a new member was Danny Thomas, a Lebanese Catholic.
