Prelude
In early 767 King Pepin the Short of Francia army marched through Aquitaine into Narbonne and moved on to besiege Toulouse.{{sfn|Royal Frankish Annals|1970|p=46}}{{sfn|Petersen|2013|p=737}} Bourges, conquered in 762 by Pepin, was the most important base for the campaign.{{sfn|Petersen|2013|p=731}}{{sfn|Petersen|2013|p=737}}Siege
Toulouse was conquered and the nearby towns of Albi and Gevaudan submitted to Pepin without a fight.{{sfn|Petersen|2013|p=737}}Aftermath
