Often overlooked, the time after the great ancient_philosophers was rich with philosophical activity, rediscovery of ancient writing, and challenges to tradition.
The spread of Christian Philosophy through the Roman world slowly brought an end to the characteristic Greek and Helinistic philosophy, ushering in the beginnings of what is generally called Medieval Philosophy, or sometimes called philosophy in the Dark Ages of Europe.
