GetMeta:About(wiki, help, original, Proteus)
GetWiki is a
Social Networking-enabled
Blog,
Wiki and
Forum, with
Positive Point of View articles at
GetWiki.net. It's a collaboration website focused on diverse intellectual topics, from
Philosophy to
Technology,
Humanities and
Sciences, including interactive applications like
SOHOdb and
GetWiki, and many other subjects. The website runs
GetWiki 2.0, and is also a technical support and discussion forum for the GetWiki collaboration software and
interwiki theory in general, sporting many of the same features deployed in
GetWiki 1.0, such as
XML import of individual articles, with
XHTML and
CSS document and accessibility standards.
The website "GetWiki", then called "GetMeta", was
launched in April, 2004, and also serves as testing platform and software demo with an
open editorial policy. GetWiki imports articles via
XML from
Pseudopedia,
Wikinfo, and
SourceWatch, among others. So, where you see green links here, you can easily extend the site. It's so easy to edit here, you don't even have to learn a new
syntax (or remain stuck in someone else's), if you'd rather not.
"In the never-ending quest for Social Technical Architextures (STΖ) that could lead us outward and upward from our present oppressive confinementality, that could give us some hope of eventually lighting on higher, opener, wider ranges of intellectual exploration than the Barbed-Wire Wiki-Prisons, Fence-Me-In-Kampfitudes, and Flaming Barbecue Wiki-Pits of Lord Jimbo's Darkest Loved Wiki-Ponderosa, here's another ingressive but innovative alternative."- (profile:Jon Awbrey|Jon Awbrey), via
