History

The first settlement at Media was made in 1878.BOOK,weblink History of the State of Kansas: Containing a Full Account of Its Growth from an Uninhabited Territory to a Wealthy and Important State, A. T. Andreas, 1883, 356, Media was located on the Kansas City, Lawrence & Southern Kansas Railroad. A post office was established in Media in 1878, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903.WEB,weblink Douglas County, Jim Forte Postal History, 8 April 2015, Media was eventually absorbed into present-day Baldwin City.
