THX 1138

After watching the new DVD release of George Lucas's THX 1138, I cannot get the themes out of my mind. It may sound overstated, but I think the film is one of the very best "future shock", sci-fi, works I have seen. Although there are cynical levels on which to read the film, there is also an affirmative reading - a sense of hope. The tension between dystopia and utopia is brilliantly done, and the multitude of references are a joy. Anyone else have an opinion on the film?? -proteus 01:57, 23 Oct 2004 (EDT)

An Inconvenient Truth

Of course, this is very powerful work, and I wonder who hasn't seen it (or at least, is not familiar with it). I saw Al Gore's incredible documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, around 4 times in the theatres, and the DVD release, with its updates to the very latest Science of Climate Change, is quite well done. Any thoughts on the film from anyone?? -proteus 00:10, 29 Apr 2007 (EDT)
